Board with boards?

I offer various decorations, edible and non-edible,

for both celebrations.

UPPING YOUR CAKE BOARD GAME

I sell gold, silver, white and sometimes black cake-boards in various sizes - but sometimes you may want another color. This is where florist foil can help. I carry it typically in a variety of colors.

After choosing my foil color, I grab the white cake-board I want to wrap. I place the foil upside down and center the board, upside down as well. You only need some scotch tape to stick the foil to the board. I pull the foil over the edge, a little at a time, and use tape to hold it tightly in place. Once I work myself completely around the board, I flip it over and admire my new color cake-board.

TAKING YOUR CAKE ON THE ROAD

You ever get home after taking dessert to a get-together and realize you left your good serving platter behind? This has happened more than once with my cheesecake pans (I always make cheesecakes with a parchment circle under the crust so I can slide it off onto a cake board when chilled).

I recommend getting a cardboard cake-board from me for presentation that is at least 2 inches larger than the diameter of your cake. This will give you an inch or more around the edge to keep fingers out of the frosting when holding the cake.

You'll want a box (if needed) the same diameter as the cake-board. This will keep the cake-board from moving about in the box. If your cake is two to three layers tall, most of my standard cake boxes will suffice. I will tent the box tops sometimes for additional clearance.

If you have a taller cake, I do have taller, more rugged boxes available.

If you want to use your own box, slice the edges of one side of the box from the top down. This will allow you to open it like a drawbridge and slide the cake in and out.

ROCK ON

If you ever need edible rocks, I may have what you need. These all have chocolate centers. From left to right, there is

Coal, PNW Rocks, Seashell Rocks and California Rocks.
