Home Cake Decorating Supply Company has been a popular fixture in North Seattle since it was opened in 1960 by two sisters, Thelma Sowards and Irene Amundsen. 

In 1962 they moved the shop from Pinehurst Avenue NE to its current location, 9514 Roosevelt Way NE.

Irene’s daughter, Greil, carried on the strong traditions of her mother and Aunt Thelma, and was the face of Home Cake Decorating until 2018. After 58 years of operation of a successful family business, Greil decided to pass on the shop to a new owner, Dave Hasle. 

Cakeman Dave (as he’s perhaps better known) has great passion for all things baking, and is committed to the neighborhood small business gem that is Home Cake Decorating Supply Company.
